How To Best Optimise Your Digital Marketing

We appreciate how frustrating it can be for a business to quickly lose control of their online marketing, especially as new platforms, landing pages, systems and team members are thrown into the mix, but we also know that with a bit of careful planning you can quickly optimise all your Digital Marketing so it’s working well and for you :)

Optimised Marketing is simply the mapping of your marketing to give your customer the best possible journey and your business the best possible return. That means walking through each step and optimising the process so it works time and time again, giving you the best ROI!

One slip, broken link or one process fails then the entire campaign will not deliver against expectations and you will be hit (mainly in the cash flow). So always take your time and walk the campaign, test and measure and tweak as needed. Never setup and leave to chance.

So Here’s “How to Optimise Your Digital Marketing”

1. Leverage the Power of Automation

With Human error it’s not unusual to see campaigns with glaring errors, broken links etc. you will have more urgent things to look at in your business than checking links and working through campaigns. You should setup the process and then automate, checking back regularly to see that it’s delivering against your expectations. With Human timeframes (think sleep and weekends) can in essence damage a potential sale as you are not giving the customer the chance to buy at that very moment, so again turn to automation to help make it easy for your customer to buy 24/7 if possible.

2. Look To Your SEO

Not everyones cup of tea, but SEO will allow people to find you organically when setup correctly. Many Websites will best guess your pages and give you a basic SEO, but spend a little time looking through your keywords (those that your potential customers would use to find you) and start adding them to your pages. It’s not always possible to rank on page 1 for every term but it is more than possible to rank for a large percentage. Start optimising your SEO by thinking of the 100 best keywords that fit your business.

3. Think About Your Audience

Whilst thinking about what words your audience is searching, you should take the time to think about them too. By knowing or best guessing your audience makeup you are giving yourself the best chance of spending time in the right areas. For example the potential customer might be female, 30+, live in London and work in a bank, you now have a better idea of where to focus your marketing and what demographics to use. Thinking about your audience means not spending your budget on people that potentially don’t fit your need or wouldn’t buy from you.

4. Optimise Your Social Media

Use Social Media to spread the word about your business but use each platform as it’s intended. What works on LinkedIn doesn’t work on Instagram and so on. Treat each platform individually, but if required use the same content across them just in its optimised way. Look also at the way your customer would look at a bio, post, link and see what improvements you could make to give them the best possible journey.
